If you book accommodation at Kamekawa Ryokan
they will pick you up from the port.
Tsuwajijima Island borders Ehime, Yamaguchi and Hiroshima Prefectures. Cruise the Seto Inland Sea guided by the master of Kamekawa Ryokan, a venerable institution from the Taisho Period. Depending on the season, you can also feed cultured flounder (please enquire).
It's well worth viewing the islands of three prefectures from the Tsuwajijima Island. The currents here are fast, so you can also experience riding the rapid currents. If you're lucky, you may also be able to see a submarine.

Kamekawa Ryokan is a venerable establishment that has been in operation since the Taisho Period. The current owner is the fourth generation. The clean and attractive ryokan and relaxed atmosphere of the rooms put visitors right at ease. The feeling of being at your grandmother's home in the country soothes away the fatigue of travel.
The fish and vegetables served are all from the island. The ingredients and seasonings are all chosen with the greatest care to produce an exquisite meal.

If you go west from Konoura along the long coastline, you come to Konoura. The part of the Uwama that juts out in a peninsula is called Shiro no Hana. A narrow road like a lane goes around the coastline, and the sea that can be seen from here is Nakajima's only spot with a fast current.
The current that flows in the gap between the islands moves as fast as a river, and it sometimes forms whirlpools. Also from the perfect sunset viewing spot on the west coast, you can see faraway islands as the sun dyes the Seto Inland Sea orange.
From Hidekobo return to the prefectural road and turn right. After about 30 minutes, the road divides into two. Take the left fork and follow the sea until you come to the Shiro no Hana coast road.
