Nakajima Island lies about 1 hour and from the port in the suburbs of Matsuyama

Take the Iyotetsu Takahama Line from Matsuyama City Station to Mitsu Station (300yen, 13 minutes) or Takahama Station (410yen, 21 minutes)

Takahama port is right in front of Takahama Station.

The ferries to Nakajima take an eastern route to Oura and western route to Konoura. For this course, take the western route and get off at Konoura port.

Enjoy seasonal activities like gathering shellfish or picking oranges with views of Kudako Island.

Stroll along Kudako Road with its unbroken views of Kudako Island in Nakajima's Uwama district, and eat a satisfying lunch of sea urchin rice and other seafood. There are plenty of seasonal activities that you can only enjoy on an island, like swimming in the sea, gathering shellfish, and picking oranges between April and November.

Things to see

From beachcombing for shellfish, to watching huge tankers pass right in front of you, you can encounter some out of the ordinary experiences. You can relax in a farm household, swim in the sea, go to the mountains to enjoy the views, and many other activities according to the time and season. From late June to the start of October, you can also try opening sea urchins (500yen per sea urchin or present price)

Located by the seashore away from the road in Nakajima's Yoshiki District, it's built like a retreat. With the beach right in front, you can enjoy swimming, fishing and other fun in the Setouchi sea.

Things to see

All the fish served is taken direct from the fish cages and is very fresh. Cooked over charcoal, you can enjoy the unadulterated flavour of the seafood to the full.

You can experience fishing from a boat under the guidance of a professional fisherman in the excellent fishing grounds of Nuwajima Island.

Nuwajima Island is one of Japan's prime fishing spots. You can fish to your heart's content from a charter boat. On this tour cruise, you can experience the unique sea and island scenery of the Setouchi region.

Things to see

On the fishing boat trip, you can catch scad, mackerel, rockfish, sea bream, yellowtail and other large fish depending on the season. On the cruise, you can enjoy riding the rapid currents and landing on uninhabited islands.
